Recommendations for Change - # 120

Section 4. Term: Unless otherwise specified in any employ¬ment contract approved by the Board of Directors, the officers of the Associa¬tion shall hold office for a period of two (2) years beginning with the officers installed at the Annual Meeting in 2011 and until their successors are elected and installed. The elected Officer shall begin his/her term immediately following the election to be held as the first item of New Business on the agenda of the Annual Meeting and continue until the installation of new Officers at the following year’s Annual Meeting. Officers may be nominated by the National Directors Nominating Committee and shall be pub¬lished at least thirty (30) days prior to the Annual Meeting on the Official NASMA Website, e-mail or mail and be re-elected for consecutive terms.

Justification and impact if rule is not changed

Change the term period for the officers to two (2) years.

The current one (1) year term does not allow sufficient time for the President to make any meaningful impact/improvements to/for the organization. Additionally it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find members who are willing to serve in these positions.
